Kottarakkara Sree Mahaganapathy Kshethram is a pilgrim centre in South India.[1] It is centuries old and the most important Maha Ganapathi Temple in Kerala. Non-Hindus are permitted. It is the family of Lord Siva. This Ganapati temple is located in Kottarakkara which is 25 km from Kollam.
The Poruvazhi Malanada temple at Adoor in Pathanamthitta, Kerala is a unique one since it is the lone temple in Kerala where Duryodhana, the mythical Kaurava king of the epic Mahabharatha is worshipped. Toddy is the main offering of the temple.
Ochira temple, located in Kollam, is a unique temple of its own kind. A striking feature of the temple is that there is no deity in the temple complex. More over, the temple also do not have any Pujari to perform rituals. The temple is dedicated to universal consiousness and has no idol of any god. The structure of the temple is also not like any traditional temple. It is a place of equal devotion for all religions.
Aryankavu is famous for its
Ayyappan temple.The Ayyappa Temple at Aryankavu in Kollam District is one among the five most important temples dedicated to Lord Ayyappa in Kerala. The shrine at Aryankav is known as Aryankavu Shastha Temple and Lord Ayyappa is depicted as a teenager (young boy) here. Ayyappa is known as Tiruaryan here and therefore the place got the name Aryankavu.
